Confidentiality

GoodLives therapists maintain the confidentiality of the information disclosed during a personal consultation. Any information shared with GoodLives is confidential and not shared with anyone, including your organization. GoodLives administration has access to your information and therapist are allowed to share important information about therapy only with the administration to help you in the best way possible without disclosing your identity. However, there are certain exceptions where confidentiality may be breached. The case where confidentiality will be breached is if:

  • the expert perceives there to be a serious and/or significant and/or imminent risk of harm to the health or safety of a person or the public or self.
  • disclosure is required by law.
  • you file a private healthcare claim and the insurer requires information.

Except for the reasons outlined above, the Personal Information shared on GoodLives will only be shared with others after permission has been granted by you orally or by way of email/letter/fax.

The User agrees to indemnify GoodLives for any breach in confidentiality of the User’s Personal Information. If the User accesses GoodLives through a third-party platform the User indemnifies GoodLives against any data breaches that occur due to any acts of commission or omission from the third-party platform.

Please note that only Personal Information or content that you voluntarily disclose for posting to the Website, or post to any social media account owned and operated by GoodLives becomes available to the public. No other information provided by you is shared with the public. Once you have shared such information or made it public, the same may be re-shared by others, re-posted by GoodLives, or used by GoodLives for the purposes of analysis, research or studies.

GoodLives shall not ordinarily share the sensitive Personal Information of a User without their prior consent. You agree that GoodLives may share sensitive Personal Information of a User with any third party without obtaining the prior consent of the User.

GoodLives may change or amend this Privacy Policy from time to time to incorporate necessary future changes. GoodLives use of User Data shall be in adherence with consistent with the provisions of the relevant privacy policy under which the information was collected, regardless of new or conflicting provisions in an updated Privacy Policy.
